Kaze ga Tsuyoku Fuiteiru AMV Hometown Smile (Haiji x Kakeru)

I literally just finished the anime 8 seconds ago and I fucking loved it. I found myself screaming everyone's names during the Hakone Ekiden and absolutely loved every second. I even cried out of pure happiness and pride of everyone's efforts, especially how far Haiji pushed himself even through injury! I kinda shipped them from around episode 4 and that feeling just kinda grew without me realising as did my love for the team.
The last episode, episode 23, right at the end where I began to feel tears truly build up. The way you could see how Kakeru felt seeing Haiji pull through the pain, how he seemed in pain not to mention how proud he was and how happy he was before he saw how much pain he was in, the tears that build up in his eyes as he stops cheering and just watches in complete admiration and awe. How he describes Haiji and the cinematography with that- I couldn't even, my tears finally streaming down my face as Haiji got closer and closer! And I seriously thought they'd kiss right there! It was so perfect, just Kakeru there to bring him home and it pushing Haiji just that far enough to make it, and how the team give them some time before jumping in to hug him. Ugh it was amazing and I truly felt everything, the anxiety that was building up the entire race making me want to puke was instantly gone the second Haiji came crashing into Kakeru.
I loved this anime so much and watched it all in one sitting! And not just Haiji and Kakeru but everyone, every single character, their development both as individuals and as a team not to forget their closer interpersonal relationships and ones with others not exactly a part of the team, like Hana.
Also let's not forget that they turn to eachother when they hear they've made it past the qualifiers. And the soft smile of relief Haiji makes when he finally focuses on the person in his colours just beyond the finishing line is Kakeru.

You should have seen me when watching the last episode. Listening to Kakeru talking about how Haiji is the answer and then Haiji running towards him.... I'm not sure I ever squeaked so loud 😂 It's been a while now but I LOVE THEM BOTH SOOOOO MUCH, my heart will never be the same. I'm in pieces. 😭❤️‍🔥❤️

My headcannon is they Haiji and Kakeru date after Hakone Ekiden, Kakeru is still on the team so he doesn't live with Haiji even after dating for 3 years, cause then he can be a better leader and be there for his team but he stays over on weekends and when they're rebuild the track and field lot.
This ship is so pure, I'm pretty sure they'd run down the isle together.

I swear I’ve been doing nothing but watching this on repeat ever since I finished Run With The Wind a couple days ago. The song is so catchy and fits their relationship really well. Plus it’s really smooth and the timing is nice. Really well done and this defiantly deserves more views/credit.

So if Kakeru likes running and running means haiji = kakeru likes haiji.
Adding to that Haiji was the one who helped kakeru loosen up his feelings and finally feel free with his friends.

The anime ended in an openverse, the interpretation is from the audience

The whole gang was shocked on that question of Jota to Kakeru.

His face turns red and felt embarrassed. But because of the feeling of uncertainty by the feelings toward of the person he loves to him, the feeling of embarassment if he answer and his somehow fear of rejection he's holding back to answer, then he refuses to made a decision to answer. But later he said some remarks,
Kakeru: It's a secret, you may found it either way soon.
When the party is over, the gang go to their places. Before Haiji leaves his eye, he wanted to ask him, but again, he hold back and not to ask him anymore.
In the morning... The sun is ready to peek in their world, Kakeru was waiting at the park, he's waiting for someone or something to come. Suddenly, Haiji came to stop in the park after his short jog.
Haiji: Oh Kakeru, what are you doing here? Oh right! A short Jog.
Kakeru: I was waiting for someone... I was waiting for you... In a straight face with a strong presence he said.
Haiji: You're waiting for me? Why? Do you need something? There's something you wanted to ask?
Kakeru: Haiji-san, no, Haiji. I Like You. You know at that moment when I see you run at the Hakoden, I'm waiting for you at the finish line, and then I realized something, a sort of amusement and strong feeling to admire you, you ask me what is running, and what is my reason to run right? The answer before is right in front of my eyes, and now it's also in front of me, it is you Haiji. I Like you Haiji.
Haiji's eyes was sparkling, you can feel the enlightenment and satisfaction in his eyes. Probably he didn't hear the words Kakeru's said after the word "I Like You" from the man confessing his feelings towards him. He is focused on Kakeru like he didn't see him in years, Like he is longing for him in a long time. Haiji then run as fast as possible, breaking the wind and barrier between them, and embrace the person he likes.
Haiji: You said that not knowing what I feel, you're really a strong person and greatest man in my eyes. I feel the same way Kakeru.
Out of overwhelming emotion Haiji serve to him. Kakeru begun to grasp Haiji's back to show his feeling towards him. He finally presented his feelings on the person he love.
Haiji: Hugs are warmer than the sunrise in this summer, right Kakeru?
Kakeru: Hmmm. Yes, Haiji.
Ok!!!! I'm satisfy on the ending of the anime but it end openly, the audience are the once who will end the story on what they want for it to end. A story will never end, it will only end on a person's mind and imagination.
I repeatedly imagine this scene many times in my head tbh. I love them both. The anime did not show it, but it is bl in the first place. Thank you for reading.
